African American women often encounter many surprises and troubles with their natural hair. It’s either difficult to style or lacks length for versatile impressive hairstyles you can see there on Internet. The other problem is when your hair is getting extremely dry and brittle due to experiments with styling products and styling procedures. Sometimes the only way out in such cases is to have a short haircut and wait for the new healthy growth. Meanwhile the other puzzle that emerges is how to style your short natural hair so that it looks decent. Don’t worry, there are many fantastic stylish hairstyles for your short hair. Here we have collected 70 pictures of the classiest ones.

Your Options In Natural Hairstyles For Short Hair

- Twists. These take any extra volume under control and look fancy whether you wear them loose or in elegant updos.

- Puffs. A puff is a substitute for a common bun, so loved by African American ladies. When you also introduce twists or elements of braiding into your puff hairstyles, you have all chances to come up with something truly exquisite and eye-catching.

- Mohawks & Fauxhawks. Never going out of fashion, these hairstyles are perfect for black women who are open to bold solutions and extravagant haircuts.

- Finger coils. If you are searching for hairstyles which make a stake on outstanding textures, finger coils are an excellent idea.

The Most Inspiring Natural Short Hairstyles

#1: Funky Mohawk with Blue Grey Ends

Grey is no longer a color for the aging. The silvery hue adds an instant dose of coolness to warm complexions for a look that is anything but regular. When you pair this popular color with a rocker-chic sassy Mohawk, you get the perfect edgy and trendy natural hair style.

#2: Layered and Curly Natural Short Hairstyle

Short curls are more springy and lively when layered throughout. The jet-black hair color adds definition to the luscious coils for an easy style that can last throughout the day and work for a variety of occasions. Natural hairstyles like this one always attract attention, be ready to be given compliments!

#3: Sectioned Mohawk with Small Coils

If you can’t pull your hair into a ponytail, pinning it into a Mohawk in the middle of your head allows to get it out of your face without trying to force it into a tiny bun or ponytail. Add in a parted design for a unique natural hairstyle for short hair. Or you can try making it more spiky.

#4: Flat Twists with Bump

Flat twists are a go-to protective style for natural hair, as they allow the hairstyle to last throughout the week without daily styling with any heated tools or chemicals. This look adds a fun twisted bouffant in the front for an interesting take on the standard style.

#5: Short Natural Haircut Styled As Fauxhawk

If your length is not sufficient to make even an afro puff, there are still creative ways to style your coils in a beautiful way. Pinning the sides with delicate combs adds visual interest; also try metal combs for a look that pops a little more.

#6: Large Curls Updo For Short Hair

Pump up the volume on your curled style with wild layered curls. Light chocolate highlights add some warmth to natural black hair and brighten the face — definitely a creative look for the weekend. Such voluminous short natural hairstyles are great for every party and formal occasion!

#7: Twisted Roll and Side Bang

For a style that will last for weeks and still look appropriate try this twisted short natural hairstyle for black women. The side bang creates some versatility: you can pin it back or wear it down for a funky casual look.

For a quick natural updo hairstyle, pair chunky cornrows with two adjacent front buns and get a lovely look that will last all day long. This creative-yet-simple style can transition from day-to-night with ease.

#9: Individual Braided Natural Hair Style

Individual braids are a go-to protective hairstyle for African American women, as they provide more versatility than flat cornrows and twists. For shorter styles, pin the braids back with a hair accessory like a thick headband. Is it winter or summer outdoors, you will always look great.

#10: Twisted Back with Curly Top and Highlights

For the lady that loves a good time, this look is just the right option for the weekend or a vacation. It’s easy to maintain – simply re-wet the curls whenever they get flat and carry on with the fun and ease!

#11: Natural Hairstyle for Black Women with Closely Clipped Sides

If you are feeling bold, complement this look with the classic red lipstick and winged liner makeup for a daring appearance.

#12: Two-Tone Haircut with Design

Just because you have a closely-cropped cut does not mean that you cannot experiment with your look as this natural hair style shows. The blonde color on top makes the style pop and the parted design adds a bit of interest on the sides. If you want to maintain the cut, simply change the color and designs to keep the look fresh.

#13: Flat-Twist with Twist Out

A twist-out is an easy natural hairstyle for short hair that African-American women can use to achieve full curls sans heat. It’s a popular protective style among the “naturalistas”. Harsh dyes, and especially bleach, can be extremely damaging to natural or transitioning hair. 3 Optimal Ways To Apply Grapeseed Oil For Hair For The Best Results

If you are looking for some truly universal haircare solution, grapeseed oil for hair is the one. Some care products are efficient yet either too messy in application, or require some elaborate manipulations, or give the effect after months and months of usage. Grapeseed oil is free of all those discouraging nuances. Everyone who applies it, does that with pleasure and reports high efficiency. I have tested it on myself as well. Now I am eager to share my observations with you. I’ll tell you why everyone is obsessed with grapeseed oil, how to use it correctly and when.

What Makes Grapeseed Oil So Special For Hair Treatment?

This oil is perfect for nourishment and restoration of your hair thanks to its precious content and light texture. Grapeseed oil contains 9 vitamins: A, E, C, B1, B2, B3, B6, B9 and B12. Besides, it’s enriched by the following micro and macroelements: potassium, sodium, calcium and iron. Yet the key element in the oil, restoring hair structure, is, certainly, linoleic acid.

In addition to so many components, indispensable for hair health, grapeseed oil penetrates into the hair follicles and shafts really fast, leaving no sensation of heaviness.

When To Use Grapeseed Oil For Hair?

You may wonder if this product is going to be good for you. Commonly girls who have greasy hair shy away from application of oils. Personally, I wash my hair 4 times a week and that involves usage of a hair dryer the same amount of times. I can say grapeseed oil has become a windfall for me. And you can also use it both as a treatment or preventive solution in the following cases:

  • Hair that gets greasy quickly. Grapeseed oil is meant for such a type of hair, although it sounds unbelievable. No, this oil wouldn’t make your hair greaser. It doesn’t clog the pores, but, on the contrary, constricts them, gets absorbed quickly, doesn’t leave any film and regulates the work of the sebaceous glands.

  • Scalp, suffering from seborrhea, and hair ends, damaged from daily styling. Grapeseed oil provides a good effect on blood vessels of the scalp. It restores damaged capillaries, cleans their walls from dangerous deposits, produce rejuvenating effect, improves blood circulation and tones hair follicles. Vitamin E, containing in the oil nourishes, heals and protects your hair and scalp.

  • Generally brittle hair. Grapeseed oil protects hair from brittleness, restores elasticity and shine of every lock.

How To Use Grapeseed Oil For Hair?

  1. You may use it as an independent care product before hair washing. Just heat 2 tablespoons of oil on a water bath, take a brush and apply the oil to the scalp, massage with your fingertips near the hair roots until you feel that the most of oil has absorbed. This is a working method for greasy hair. If your hair shafts also require care, simply comb it, spreading the remains of oil towards the ends.

  2. To moisturize your scalp and hair, you may quickly prepare one simple mask from grapeseed oil, lemon juice and egg white. This mixture is going to provide skin with moisture and disinfect any possible wounds, rashes or irritation, available on the scalp.

  3. My favorite method is application of grapeseed oil on previously washed hair in combination with one of my favorite essential oils. I prepare a mixture from 4 tablespoons of grapeseed oil and add a few drops of Bergamot or lemon essential oils, heat everything slightly, wash my hair with a soft shampoo, dry it a little with a towel and begin to apply the mixture. I start from the back of my head and move up towards the forehead. It’s important to process the ends of your hair thoroughly because they need moisture the most. I also massage the mixture into the roots. After I wrap my head with a piece of film and towel and leave the mixture on my hair for at least 15-20 minutes. After I rinse my hair with warm water, finishing with cool water. Fast, simple and efficient: hair restores after 3-4 procedures. You may repeat the treatment 2-3 times a week, depending on how damaged your hair is.

Well, these were my tips and tricks about grapeseed oil for hair. I wonder if you, ladies, use it in some other special ways. Please share them with me and anyone else, who strives to attain the hair beauty they demonstrate proudly in commercials:)

#22: Vintage Long Blonde Waves From The Vogue Italia’s Editor-In-Chief

As a rule, Italian women and long blonde hair are two incompatible things. But editor-in-chief of Italia Vogue, Franca Sozzani, has found her flattering ashy blonde tone that refreshes her appearance miraculously. Natural-looking waves with a vintage flair are a lovely idea for casual long blonde curly hairstyles. The easiest way to achieve those waves is a “braid-unbraid” method, when you have your damp locks braided, let them dry and then unbraid.

How To: Short Hairstyle For Fine Hair With Twisted Bangs

This cute girly hairstyle for short fine hair is a good option for every day. It’s practical, pretty and fitable into any of your casual looks. One problem with the popular today long bangs is that they keep falling constantly into your face which can be at times quite distracting and annoying. Twists in the bangs are a lovely decorative element of your casual hairstyle that, at the same time, gives you a neat look.short hairstyle for fine hair

You can adjust this particular hairstyle to any face shape. Our model has a round face, that’s why we style her locks side-parted. Keeping in mind that the centre parting widens your face visually, it’s easy to conclude that with a long or oval face, you simply shift your parting to the centre. If your hairline is squared, you need to bring the twists maximally closer to the line of your hair growth and adjust them so that they cover the corners of your forehead.

Short Hairstyle For Fine Hair With Twisted Bangs – Step-By-Step Tutorial

Step1: Divide Your Locks Into Sections

Before you begin styling your locks, you need to divide them into sections. It’s a necessary step even for fine hair. The sectioning helps you to manage your locks more efficiently and enhances the final result. Use a rat-tail comb for quick and effortless sectioning. We made 4 sections: the nape section, the crown section and 2 temple sections with a side parting between them.how to section your hair

Step 2: Blow-Dry Your Locks

Prepare the base of your hairstyle, blow-drying your hair step by step, using a vented round brush. Begin from the lowest tresses of the nape section and ascend towards the crown. To achieve the quality volume, you need to make sure that the locks you are getting recur the natural curve of your head.hot to blow dry fine hair

Step 3: Style The Crown Section

Do the same styling for the crown section as you’ve done for the nape. Next, begin to backcomb your locks on the crown: section out a horizontal strand in the middle of your head and backcomb it, using a flat comb, then take another strand above and backcomb it likewise. The top strand of the crown section is backcombed slightly and smoothed out to cover the light bouffant we have achieved.how to backcomb hair

Step 4: Make The Twists

The temple areas are styled into twists. To create a cute twist that is going to hold its shape and position in your hairstyle, you need to twist two strands, picking up a new thin strand and adding it to one of the two after each twist you make. After the first twist is finished, fix it with a bobby pin and hide its end under the locks. Repeat the procedure for the other twist.how to style twists
